What happens during a crash test?
In a frontal crash test for child car seats, a sled traveling at up to approximately 70 km/h is brought to a standstill in just a few milliseconds. This generates enormous forces: about 40 times greater than the force of gravity. Our infant carriers and child car seats are designed to withstand this extreme situation. Our products are intended to make your everyday family life carefree and relaxed – safety included.
i-Size
Rear-facing transport, optimized side-impact protection, and intuitive ISOFIX installation offer maximum safety for young passengers in the back seat. In the event of a frontal collision, forces are distributed across the entire body, protecting the sensitive head and neck area. i-Size, also known as UN R129, was developed using the latest child safety testing methods and represents the most current approval standard with the highest safety requirements.
The new EU safety regulation mandates rear-facing transport until the age of 15 months. Our safety experts recommend rear-facing transport whenever possible until the age of 4.
Side impact protection
Our child car seats feature side impact protection in the form of attachable, fold-out, or integrated systems. This allows for quick and easy adjustment of the car seat to any vehicle. Our Advanced Side Protection System guarantees protection far exceeding legal requirements. Forces generated in the event of a collision are absorbed and held back by the car seat, resulting in even greater crash performance.
Our child car seats undergo a long and rigorous process before they finally go into production. We collaborate with international testing institutes throughout this process. Intensive and comprehensive testing phases complete the development of our products. Ultimately, however, no one is as critical of the result as our own team of engineers and designers.
